Legal Basis For Using Data
We are required to set out the legal basis for our ‘processing’ of personal data as set out in Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulations:

Consent: the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose. (for example; when you contact us with a query about our services or to request a visit).

Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual, or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract. (for example; where you have requested treatment or advice for livestock

Legal Obligation: the processing is necessary for you to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations). (for example; complying with taxation records

Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a good reason to protect the individual's personal data which overrides those legitimate interests. (for example; for a business interest updating a client's contact details)
